Sunshine Music Festival
Music fans get your tickets. This annual festival is fast approaching. Labour Day weekend, Saturday August 30th and Sunday August 31st the sound of music will fill Palm Beach Park. Weekend Pass tickets are $50. and single day tickets are $30. (Students and Seniors are $40. and $25.)

The Paws for a Cause annual event in Powell River is Sunday September 7th. This is a fundraiser for the SPCA, sponsored by Scotiabank. Come out and support this organization that does such good work in our community. Registration at Willingdon Beach is at noon, with the walk starting at 1:00pm. Furry friends are welcome.
The Terry Fox Run in Powell River is the next weekend, Sunday September 14th. Registration is at the Complex at 8:30am. The run starts at 10am (you can walk it or bike it too!) There are 2 routes: a 3.5 kilometre and a 10 kilometre. For the route and to sign up click here.
In the Market for a Market?
Summertime and the markets are open! The Farmer’s Market located at 4365 McLeod Road is open Saturdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm and Sundays 12:30pm to 2:30pm, with offerings of produce, baked goods and arts vendors. Saturday features a storytime, and Sunday offers train rides. There is a shuttle operating from the Mall for $2. Read the Market Blog for interesting tidbits.
The Kelly Creek Garden Market is in full swing on Friday nights from 6pm to 8pm showcasing local produce and live music. It’s a fun place to hang out for a couple hours.
