Hockey Night in Pow Town
The Powell River Kings are at home on Friday night, October 17th as they take on Prince George. The puck drops at 7:15pm. If you can’t make that, they play against Nanaimo on Sunday afternoon 2:o0pm, October 19th. Tickets range from $9. (child) to $15. (adult). Get ‘em on Game Day! Hap Parker Arena.
Sunshine Coast Art Crawl
Artist Studios are open for visitors from Langdale to Lund in this annual event. See the working studios of painters, potters and fibre artists in a relaxed, self-guided tour. Metropolitan Opera Series
The LIVE at the Met season at the Max Cameron is underway. Tickets range from $15. to $25. and are available at the Academy of Music, Breakwater Books or at the Max on Saturday morning. Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro is second in the series on Saturday October 18th at 10am.

Splash ‘n Boots
Take the kids to this matinee show, a fun hour of music that won the 2014 Canadian Children’s Group of the Year. The 2pm matinee is Saturday October 25th at the Max Cameron. Annual Salmon Foundation Dinner & Auction
Now is the time to get your tickets for this yearly gala. The event is held at Dwight Hall on Saturday October 25th starting at 5:30pm with a gourmet meal catered by Exec. Chef David Bowes. Auction items include trips, outdoor adventures and works of art. Proceeds from the evening go to local salmon conservation and restoration. Tickets are $50. per person. Urban Homesteading Bootcamp
Learn how to raise small livestock, garden, cook with the harvest, and improve your infrastructure. This jam-packed weekend will help you take your homesteading to the next level.
