Logger Sports

Powell River Logger Sports takes the stage at Willingdon Beach for a busy weekend event in July. Competitors come from around the world and across our nation. This is serious stuff. Team work and skill combine for great entertainment in events such as Tree Climb, Axe Throw, several Springboard competitions and of course, Carving. Awards up for grabs are Canadian Championships and World Championships. The event takes place mid-July. If you are planning to visit us during the summer, this would be a great weekend for the entire family. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has cancelled this event until further notice. Stay tuned.

BC Bike Race

The BC Bike Race is a grueling 7-stage mountain bike adventure not for the faint of heart. Powell River offers a fabulous day for the racers as they circuit through town and forest, hills and lakes on the one-day ride. Approximately 600 racers come from all around the world to participate in this legendary race. Spectators are welcomed to encourage the riders through their paces. The BC Bike Race has been cancelled due to Covid-19. Stay tuned.

Hockey

Naturally, since Powell River is the ultimate Canadian town, we have hockey! The Powell River Kings are our Junior A Hockey Club within the BC League of 17 teams. Season’s Tickets and Game Day tickets are available. The home team plays at the Hap Parker Arena. The regular season runs from mid-September to the end of February, and then the Playoffs get rolling, the winners awarded with the Fred Page Cup. The 2021-2022 Season is underway with games at the arena. Full vaccination is required for entry. Contact the Kings for ticket and Covid-19 protocol info.
